Maggie Grace is an American actress born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her most well-known roles are Shannon Rutherford, a character on ABC's Lost series, and Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. Her birthplace was Worthington, Ohio and dropped out of school after her parents separated to go into Los Angeles to live with her mother. Although she was struggling financially and in the beginning, she made her acting debut as Rachel's Room's principal character. She went on to earn an Young Artist Award nomination in 2002 with her portrayal of 15-year-old murder victim Martha Moxley in the television movie Murder in Greenwich. Grace Rutherford's role she played in Lost from 2004 until 2005 was selected for an Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace has worked together with Tom Welling on The Fog during 2005, wanted to move into the world of film. She was on the screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in both 2007 and Taken (2008) with Liam Neeson. She reprised her role in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a modern version from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to the character as Shannon for two additional episodes of Lost including the series finale. She also was a guest in the sixth season of Californication. She portrays Faith as an admirer and muse to the stars. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. As a part of the Gyllenhaal Family, she is the daughter and elder sister to actor Jake Gyllenhaal. In her teens her career began on small roles with her father. She also appeared in Donnie Darko with her brother. The year 2002 saw her starred as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. The actress also starred on Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics in both of her roles as the lead actress in Secretary (2002) which is which is an erotic romantic drama as well as Sherrybaby (2006). In 2006, she received a nomination from her fellow actors for the Golden Globe Award. In 2006, she appeared in several commercially successful films, such as World Trade Center. However the role she played as Rachel Dawes that brought her wider attention in The Dark Knight (2008). Her performance in Crazy Heart as a mother who has a child received her a nomination in the Academy Award Best Supporting Actress. After that she was able to star in comedies and dramas like Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011), and The Won't Back Down (12). The other roles she played were the role of a Secret Service agent in the action thriller White House Down (2013) and a musician in the film Frank (2014) as well as The title role in the drama The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal made her debut as a writer and director in 2021 with her psychological drama The Lost Daughter. For this movie, she received with the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and nominated for an Academy Award.
